Java overland tour

JAVA OVERLAND TOUR
Java overland tour is one of the most richest tour in terms of culture and social life. At least there are 3 distinct cultures that can be seen as the contrast on the island of Java. One is the traditional and modern life of people in bigger cities of Java such as Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya. Among those cities at least one historical place that form the present society can also be seen. As an ethnic group Java island based on language can be grouped into 2 large part, one is the Sunda people which is inhabit west part of Java island currently includes Banten province, original population of Jakarta, and the province of West Java with the capital city of Bandung. Second ethnic group is the Javanese with the center of cultural history in Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta in the past was the center of Javanese kingdom, from Hindu era until Muslim era of today. Those two ethnic group speak different language which is a distinct dialect for each. The Sunda speak Sundanese, and the Javanese speak Javanese. Historically the language of Javanese more closer to Balinese language compared to Sundanese, although in some aspect of their lexicon all Sundanese, Javanese and Balinese have the same root. But this type of language that having the same lexicon got the influence from Malay and Sanskrit, and today this type of language style is not used in daily communication anymore, but can still be studied from manuscripts.

Although Yogyakarta was shaken by earth quake on 27 May 2006 but all places of interests are not damaged, except the home industry of pottery in Kasongan village near Bantul. Some hotels are opnamed to check it's condition after the quake, such as Jayakarta Hotel, Ibis Malioboro, Melia Purosani, and other hotels aslong the road of Jalan Malioboro. Other hotels in Yoayakarta are not affected. Candi Prambanan is still proudly standing, although some of the stupas were fall down. Today it is already recovered as it was the first renovation by reconstruction.
